I have to tell you that I find writing addicting. I want to write more than I want to do anything else. My house isn’t as clean as it used to be. :)
Sure it was scary to put my first book out for the world to see but once I got over that bump in the road the ideas just keep flowing. And since these ideas just keeping coming I’ve decided to start my second book. And I thought it would be cool to document the process I use to write it.
My hope is that anyone and everyone who’s ever thought about writing a book will jump on board and join me in the journey.
I mean why not? Why not take this opportunity to write together and have some fun along the way?
So here is a list of things I’ve done so far. Please add your thoughts, I’m looking forward to learning from you.
1. Decided I will write about a 20,000 word book.
2. Decided on the topic I’ll write about.
3. Created a simple outline with seven chapters with the main topic for each chapter.
4. Chose an editor.
5. Committed to writing without editing so the thoughts flow freely.
6. Created a writing schedule.
I’ll write a new blog post here every time I complete a chapter and what new steps I’m working on. I hope this encourages many to start with me and I can’t wait to see what great works come out of it.
If you like this idea but have never thought of yourself as a writer, welcome to the club! I never did either. Each of us has a unique perspective and we all definitely have something to say.
Share your experiences…
Share your insight…
Share your imagination with the world.
I’ll meet you back here soon…until then get to working on these six things and let me know if I left anything out.
p.s. Here’s a little about my first book, Celebrate Life 365 Ways.
Hungry for More, Monique Alvarez p.s. If there are typos, spelling or grammar mistakes in this post don’t worry about. Those are the kinds of things I’ve worried about for FAR too long. It’s time to just get it out and who cares if it’s not perfect, it’s from the heart!
