and even though we are not able to go to breakfast or have cake together I want to honor him on this special birthday.
I have observed from my Dad that life is meant to get better and better. Age is a blessing and 55 is the prime of life. Experience is a wise teacher and we truly can transform ourselves at any moment.
John Mayor wrote-
“Fathers, be good to your daughters. You are the god and the weight of her world.”
And I completely agree with him. You could say that daughters soften their fathers and fathers are meant to be the anchor of every little girl. I’m so thankful for a Dad that didn’t dodge responsibility, but instead stepped into a new phase of life ready to do his best.
Now more than ever before I have an appreciation for the protective warrior and the consistent provider my Dad always was.
It feels awesome to know that no matter where in the world I live I know he’s just a phone call away…whether it’s to share exciting news or to discuss new ideas or to be encouraged on a rough day.
You could say that’s what real Dads do, they are present.
Happy Birthday Dad…
This time don’t celebrate for one hour or for one day, but instead celebrate your life for the entire year!
Hungry for More, Monique Alvarez *Have you downloaded my free ebook, The Hungry Soul’s Manifesto? It’s all about remembering what’s important in life – creating purpose and passion, instead of just passing the time amassing stuff. p.s. If there are typos, spelling or grammar mistakes in this post don’t worry about. Those are the kinds of things I’ve worried about for FAR too long. It’s time to just get it out and who cares if it’s not perfect, it’s from the heart!
